Wireless card and Wireless router networking FUN
Okay heres the situation as best as I can put it. My wireless card keeps getting disconnected from the router every 40-60 sec. When it is connected, it gets 50% signal strength. Once it does disconnect, I check the site survey and my network is there. I am able to connect to it again immediately after it disconnects.
Heres what I've tried so far. -updating drivers -completely un-installing and re-installing the card. -tried every channel available -resetting router to factory defaults -re-flashing the firmware on router -rolled back to previous drivers of wireless card -bought new wireless card, same problem. Heres the setup -Linksys Wireless pci card model wmp11 -Linksys Wireless access point router -one win xp computer (wireless) -one win ME computer (hardwired) (never loses interenet connection) -about 30-35 ft. between wireless and router (never been an issue) -No wireless phones I've called Linksys 4 times now and they seem to be out of ideas, except sending the router back under warranty. Before I do that, I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. |

Do you have it set for windoze to manage your wireless networks. If you do it is trying to roam. Turn this off and use the Linksys utility instead.

thanks for the reply. Where do I turn that off at?
*edit* I found the checkbox and un-checked it, seems to be working fine now. Thanks Last edited by Fezzik; 05-01-2003 at 01:32 PM. |
