Question

anyone know how to connect 2 differnt networks. I have a bunch of systems I use for just playing around. I have 2 differnt networks and I would like to connect them without trusts.
Network1 is sys2k domain
192.168.0.1 this network uses ICS to share the internet connection.
network2 Domain2 NT4
10.0.0.89 this network has a bdc with 2 NIC cards, the bdc logs on to the domain2 server. one nic has a static adress of 10.0.0.91. the second card recives an IP from the sys2k domain through DHCP built in to ics. the bdc does not login to sys2k.
I want to be able to see sys2k from domain2 through the BDC.
I have ip routing enabled. I can ping both cards in bdc from any pc but i cannot ping through the BDC to domain2 or to sys2k.
any suggestions?

Have you tried to configure both netcards in the BDC with static ip address? Also, did you install RIP for TCP/IP? This will allow dynamic exchanges of routing information.

Unhappy

yes rip is installed on both the pdc and bdc. ICS in windows 2000 has a built in DHCP and DNS, so if I give the other nic a static ip for that network it will not share the internet connection, but the ip it recieves is always the same. 192.168.0.188.
I thinking possibly I could use an LMHOSTS or HOSTS file on the PDC and it will resolve the 192.#.#.# addresses.
does this sound right?

Cool

I may have misunderstood. You can ping the ip address through the bdc but not names? If yes then add entries to the hosts/lmhosts files.
