Wireless LAN + Gigabit LAN Simultaneously?
I'm getting an ASUS P4C800, which has a built in "ASUS WIFI Connector for optional wireless LAN upgrade " (which I'm assuming is 802.11b) and a Gigabit Ethernet Port. I'm going to have A linksys WRT54G hub 802.11g network set up right next to the computer and am planning on hard wiring it to the hub with the GBL Ethernet port. Would there be any way to use the wireless connection and GBL Port simultaneously? And is using the GBL port a better option? (I'm betting it is)
Thanks, Matt |

one or the other but not both simultaneously (at least not easily).
besides, teh 10/100/1000 link wll be far faster and a more reliable connection that the wireless link. for the gigabit link to run at ful sped, you will need a hub/switch that runs at that speed as well as other devices that will exploit that performance and right now there aren't many (for a home network that is) available at a reasonable price |

also, your internet connection DSL or Cable probably maxes at 1.5 or 2.0. I have seen a few up to 4, which the 10 on that would handle.
Wireless is abit slower due to the encryption as well. If you could get them working together like a bridged connection you would have no increase in proformance. |
