Which Is Better Bt Or Aol Broardband For Playing Online Games
I live in the uk and would like to know which company is the best for online games has any one had any exspreince with either company. They say with out any clear detail how many k their broad band is.does any one know which one is faster sadly these are the only companys in my area i can get i would loved to get a 700 or even 1mb connection with ntl but sadly i cant so im stuck with these companys whos packages smell like a con to me .

If you have to run AOL's software while you are connected I'd say get the other one. It's just another open program that is taking up resources while you're trying to play. I gave up on AOL after a bout with their "wonderful" tech support.

It's not the speed that's important for online gaming - it's latency. A good 56k dialup with a quality hardware based modem will game better than a laggy broadband (such as satellite). Whichever you get, try to get something that uses an Ethernet modem, not a USB modem, USB can introduce its own lag and system resource use.

ADSL Ethernet Modem?????????? i have been looking for where i can buy one of these but i cant find one are they made for cable connections only.i do not understand what lantency means how can 56k be better than anything for online gaming. i beleave two cans and a peice of string can get a more steady connection than my 56k. i have tryed playing avp 2 even with a ping of of 230 i shoot some one kill them. then suddenly im back down a corridor stone dead and i died before i even knew they or i was there.how do i improve my lantency on 56k or even broadband is usb modem that bad for online gaming a ethernet asdl modem seems to not exsist or am i just being stupid which is more than likly.

Latency = ping times, the higher the ping time, the higher the latency.
