the easiest way is to get a router, connect all the PC's to that and you are good to go.

If you are on dial up ,set up internet connection sharing on PC1. Just look up internet connection sharing in the help menu for the details.

A Router is the best way to go. I bought a D-Link router that has a Lan printer LPT option and it works great.
Every body in my house can print through the router as well as the shared printer on my PC. Also the router acts as a switch for multiple users and gives you the option to access each other's systems. (At my home we use 1 PC as a main file storage (kind of like a server ) This may be a bit long winded but I just wanted you to know about the flexibility that a router can provide and the price can be as low as $25 US if you shop around. |

a hub is not a substitute for a router (the technology is very different). you can have a pc act as a quasi-router but a dedicated router is much easier to setup and configure.

If you don't want to buy a router, then PC1 will have to have 2 network interfaces (1 connected to ISP, the other connected to hub or PC2). On the interface that is connected to ISP, you will have to enable Internet Connection Sharing under Windows. Have your other interface as well as PC2 to 'obtain IP address automatically'. But if you don't have 2 network cards on PC1, a router is a the better way to go as the others have suggested. |
