If cost is not an issue which one of these would u recommed me to buy and why?
.Netgear DG814 ADSL Modem/Router .Netgear DM602 ADSL Modem/Router .BT Voyager 200 USB/Ethernet ADSL Modem/Router Or do you think it would be better to buy the Modem and Router seperatly, not as a router with a built-in modem like to two above? Last edited by 13977; 05-28-2003 at 08:10 AM. |

I have no direct use with any of those modems. I can say I like modems and routers in one unit. You have less equipment and less parts where a problem can come in.
DG814 http://www.netgear.com/products/prod...asp?prodID=136 looks pretty good. DM602 http://www.netgear.com/products/prod...asp?prodID=171 has options, it appears to be compatiable with HPNA's so you can network your home off of the phone lines in you home. Personally I am not big on that idea, it works for some people and it a horriable headache for other. With just what I read about both of those modems for my personal use, I would go with DG 814 and plan on running ethernet cable to all of the computers. I do tech support for a different HPNA setup and I personally would not use it. I do like the brand netgear, that is my personally choice. I know on this board linksys has a good following and I have no personally problems with the linksys brand of componets.

Well, Netgear is quality equipment, but if you want the easiest in the long run, get the BT if you are using BT service, that way you get support (hopefully).
