Question Serial To Serial

i was wondering if it is possiable to link to computers together by serial, and could they get on the same internet connection. i have a IBM laptop and a old compaq 2200 and it does not usb ports and it has no isa or pci slots basically its a throw away computer..

You can use Direct Cable Connection to link them together by serial or parallel for file transfers, but it's really slooooooowwwwwww and I don't believe you can use Internet Connection Sharing without nics.

Many years ago, Xircom made a parallel port network adapter, but I have no idea where you can find one or more importantly, drivers for it for Win9x.
