problem with u.s. robotics 56k fax modem
alright, so this is a 56k faxmodem pci for windows (v.92), my other info SHOULD be in my signature now. so, i'm having trouble installing the internet call notification program for it. when i try to do it, it tells me "no U.S. Robotics modem detected. Please install your modem before running setup." i look under device manager and it says it's working properly and their are no conflicts. what do i do? oh, and i also tried the software's help program and xp's as well. xp told me to check something about the coms under ports in device manager, but i didn't see anything that said port. -Reuben
edit: And i've done the obvious (well, to me), like, make sure it's in the slot tight as well as try other slots. Last edited by akr44; 06-09-2003 at 03:22 AM. |

Which exact model is the modem? Have you "qualified" the modem?
You might want to search USR support for "internet call notification". I believe your ISP has to support V.92 before this feature will work. |

You are right glc. I just installed the same program and it is very explicit in the instructions that the ISP must support V.92 .
