98 and XP network
I have set up one network with both 98 and XP computers, and I remember it being a pain, and unfortunetly, I dont remember how I did it. I am going to a friends house tomorrow to help him set up his network(consisting of a 98 and XP computer), are there any little tips or tricks to make the networking process go quicker so i dont have to mess with the settings for an hour?
thanks ^dan |

Are you going to be using a router? Crossover cable? Give us a little more info on what you have planned.
Will you be sharing internet connections or just file sharing?

I dont have that much info yet, but i know there will be at least file and print sharing with a router. ICS won't be a problem, file/print sharing is what gave me trouble before.

Seems like one of the biggies is that firewall that by default is on in XP, so U just have to turn that off, and if U just want netbeui on that XP machine then U have to get it off the XP CD and then U can use netbeui for the LAN and TCP/IP for internet..
