I want to network my son’s computer with mine so we can transfer files. I have a Kingston hub and Kingston nics. Could someone direct me to a site where I can get all the info I need on how to do this, ie, what procedure, settings, etc.? We're both running WIN98SE.

This is probably the second most covered topic on the web.
Didn't the hub/nics come with any instructions? (They usually do).
Try this site: http://www.homepclan.com
Probably the most comprehensive (yet easy to follow) site on the net.

Thanks Jim'
That site looks exactly like what I need. No instructions, I bought the hub and nics from hackercarlos.

If all you are going to do is share files and printers, use NetBeui instead of TCP/IP - its more secure and requires no configuration - it just *works*.

Make sure you unbind file and printer sharing from the TCP/IP on your dialup adapters.

When you install the network cards and NetBeui, you will wind up with both protocols bound to both adapters - remove TCP/IP from the network cards and remove NetBeui from the dialup adapters.

g,
What you said just went over my head. I'm a network newbie.

Also, I just visited the Kingston site and they've got installation guides on everything I have, and the drivers as well.
