wireless is now setup in my work shop
ok, here is my current setup at home
Motorola Cable modem Netgear 814 MR wireless router. PC1 win 2k wired PC2 win 2k wired DMZ modem since it runs my server. PC3 win98 SE wired (wifes PC) upgrade to 2k in near future Wifes Laptop Wireless 802.11b PC card semens brand. and the Kicker PC4 in my work shop, just built from spare parts, including left overs from my First real PC. P-166 no MMX 16 Meg of ram 4 meg video PCI USB 1.0 add on card PCI with a USB wireless simens 802.11b I get a 2mbit signal in my work shop which i figure is pretty good considering the ACCESS point is all the way on one end of the house and the work shop is of course outside the house on the other end. The work shop is a brick building with one small window on the side facing toward the house. About 75-100 feet away from the Access point. my cable cap is 1.8 megs but right now my main PC isn't getting that due to problems in the area.

my sister has a rv in the far corner of her backyard and uses her laptop in there with the air conditioner running good 100 + feet from her house, with the lincksys wireless router. |
