can devices like a printer be shared if it is on a usb port?
or even a scanner? |

as far as i know, as long as a printer uses standard windows printer drives, as in it shows up in the printers folder, it can be shared over a network, it doesnt matter if its usb, or parallel port.
As for scanners, i dont think they can be shared, no matter what interface they use. If you know of a way to share parallel port scanners, please post, because i dont know of any way to share scanners.

They do make network scanners that will work over the network. They are fairly expensive. An ordinary scanner can't be shared as far as I know.

I just learned tonight that windows ME does have what is called WIA windows imageing accucation. it allows scanners to be shared over a network through the usb port, could it be copied to w98se and used there??
