cant network anymore

i just reinstalled winxp on my old computer, and tried to setup a network connection between the old one and the new one and i cant seem to get them connected. they are both winxp and i beleive i did everything right. when i go to My Network Places on the new computer, and then go to View Workgroup Computers, i get this error:

MsHome is not accesible. You might not have permision to use this network resource. Contact the Administrater of this server to find out if you have access permisions.

The list of servers for the workgroup are not currently avalable.

i am the admin so im not sure why its doing this. i have a 56k modem in the new computer and want to connect to the internet with the old one through the new one.
Before I reinstalled WinXP again on the old computer, i had a network between the two and it worked fine. im not sure whats wrong now. any ideas anyone??

Assuming U have crossover cable installed or thru hub/switch box and have link lights all around then what about that winxp firewall that is on by default that needs turned off...
Go to local area connection>properties then advanced tab and check there...

you did creat a workgroup and have both computers in the same group

and you do have a folder shared on each system too

heck xp should almost do that automatically for you
