such thing?

hey i was wondering if there is a such thing as a cable modem and router in all in 1.

Yes but they are expensive. I was looking for one myself and seems the ones I found where like 200 bucks.

It is a shame too, I know a great DSL modem that is modem and router in one for 100 bucks and it is a dam good one as well.

Westell 2100 dual connect.

If you find such a cable modem that you are looking for, please let me know.

oh thanks but is it possible to use a dsl modem to use cable internet?

No, a DSL modem hooks up to the phone line, while a cable modem hooks up to the cable line. Plus they have very different ways of communicating with the ISP.

Well, I've seen cable modems dirt cheap around here lately, and broadband routers for $10 after rebate. I think for about $40 total at our local MicroCenter you could have broadband with the modem and router.

a Cable Modem and a router is the cheaper way to go.

My westell example was just that and example but that is for DSL only.
