Question cable connection

Is a cable connection known as another name, or just as cable? Also, what are the transfer speeds of cable?

Cable is Cable, as far as I know.

The speeds very greatly depending on how many ppl in your neighborhood are using it, and it varies from ISP to ISP.

Usually, I download at about 350kb/s.

Okay, on that page, it says Cable "varies". Is there a range that it usually transfers at?

Various packages (meaning speeds) are available from cable providers. Common download speeds are 1500-2000 KBps with upload speeds in the range of 150-300. Those are common residential types. Some providers offer downloads in the 3000 range and uploads over 300 for a premium price. I just read where Comcast is upgrading service in Michigan, Florida and some other states to make the 3000 more of a standard. Here's a place with good info.

Optimum is, from what have seen one of the best ISPs out there. In my state anyway, Connecticut. I get a good 4.5Mb down and 800Kb - 900Kb up. Have never noticed any real slow downs in connection speeds, then again I'm in a fairly rural town. For a connection of that speed from our DSL provider in my area I would be paying allmost 300.00 a month, I paid 30.00 a month for allmost 3 yrs, they just raised there rates to 45.00. I can live with that for sure.
