IP Question

Hi everyone,
I went to play an online game (not important what game it is) tonight and my mate couldn't connect to the game through the IP listed on the status screen. I went to get my PC's IP through DOS and it gave me 3 different IP's.

1: this IP was the one listed in the games status screen
2: The next IP was listed under Primary Ethernet adapter or something like that.
3: The last one was listed under secondary ethernet adapter or something similar.

I have a PCI network card installed but i haven't started any networking yet as my other PC isn't ready yet.

PS The second IP worked by the way and my mate joined the game.

PPS Basically i dont want to have to obtain my IP through DOS all the time when we go to play the game.
