A friend of mine has a cable modem net connection. The other day his computer started acting funny. When he brings up his browser he can surf for a bout 2 mins then he cannot connect to any site. If he closes down the browser and opens it again he still doesn't have a connection. Only after a reboot can he access anything, then after another 2 mins it happens again.
He called his ISP support center for help. They were able to ping his system until he was on the net for more than 2 mins, after that theycould not ping him. Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this problem? |

Has he tried the "repair this connection" feature in the control panel/network connections area? Is this a new cable installation or an existing one that just started having troubles? Did he add anything or change anything on his computer recently?

May seem like a stupid question, but You state:
"The other day his computer started acting funny. " Wouldn't of happened to have been Thursday 8/14/03-afternoonish would it? |
