lately, after bringing my computer home from a lan at which i setup a proxy, i am unable to re-attain my ip that i used to have. it seems (or i am told at least) that i'm being assigned a default windows ip. i'm wondering if anyone could help me reattain my old IP which is 12.28.37.31. i'm really in great need of it because it is making it difficult to make a game server or anything.
here is my WINDOWS IP CONFIGURATION: Windows 98 IP Configuration Ethernet adapter : IP Address. . . . . . . . . : 24.142.180.217 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . : 24.142.180.1 |

Go into your network settings either through control panel or by right clicking on the Network Neighbourhood icon and selecting properties. Double click on TCP/IP for your NIC. Enter your IP address, click OK all the way out and reboot when requested.
