I have a W2K Server and am interested in installing Terminal Services so that I can preform remote administration. The problem is that I only have Win98se machines to administer from. What steps should I go through to do this? I've just never dealt with the TS portion of W2K. Thanks. Ian.

Terminal server is such a hassle, I always use VNC http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/ which works on about every operating system I have ever used. And it is Freeware.

I actually find terminal server in win 2000 very easy to use. First thing is to install it on the server. it will ask you how you want it installed. select remote administration and finish the installation. as for the clients, you need to install the terminal server client software on your win98 clients.
go to the following link and get the latest client software. you can also get a web server package download that lets you run the terminal services client from a web browser. i do this from home, works good.

Or, once you install and configure TS on the server, go into TS Client Creator and it will generate the client setup for the clients. You can create these on floppies (and schlep 'em around to everybody) or in a folder on the network.

And, like the Great_One, I found TS easy to use.
