EarthLink TotalAccess® 2004(Accelerator)

Is this accelerator from Earthlink for dial-up customers not a good idea? Can they track your websites visits with this accelerator? Thanks.

this product uses some funky technology to make certain assumptions about the pages and they load faster. it also contains spam and pop up blockers.

Can it track your usage? yeah it could, but your ISP can do that anyway without any special software on your PC.

if it works, then use it.

Earthlink accelerator will help in page load speeds but will do NOTHING for download speeds.

If it works like Netzero's accelerator, it simply prefetches pages and caches them on your hard drive giving you the illusion of a faster connection when you are surfing.

It actually uses a proxy server to do the prefetch and serve the pages.
