Hi
I was having shutdown problems and restart problems with my pc. 350 mmx Win98se I Intalled a Surecom Network card model EP320xr. I found the problem that my programs were running slow and that my pc would not shut down or restart normally. I took my network card out and now pc running back to normal. I need a network card for the internet and maybe this was not compatible with my pc. Would i be best installing an Adapter for the usb port , or trying other Pci Network card. I need it for ADSl As im no longer going to be using dial up for my internet. I would appreciate some help. Last edited by elmoes; 10-19-2003 at 01:55 AM. |

Try different PCI slots for the nic. I'd personally use a different brand nic, we've been using D-Link 530TX+ with good results lately. Do not use USB.

The D-Link 530TX+ is my nic of choice.

I've been using for 4 yrs and installing a cheapo Realtek 10/100TX PCI Fast Ethernet Card (@$5.00 ea.) and so far I have not heard any complains from my friends.

Realtek based is fine, because most versions of Windows have a native driver.
