Google and Yahoo Don't Load

I have 2 computers on the same network, and on one computer, neither Google or Yahoo will load. All other pages that I access load fine. It's strange because on one computer, they both load.

I do not have any software installed that blocks web pages.

Any ideas?

Look at C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

Open the hosts file with wordpad. If you have entries for any search engines, remove them. Also run Spybot, as it will remove the source that put those entries there.

If it's a XP box, open a command prompt and type ipconfig /flushdns

Hello Folks,

I'm having the same problem, except I get re-directed to internet-optimizer.com. I ran the flush command and it told me it was successful. THen I purposefully tried to load a wrong page, and it still went to the optimizer page.

I displayed the client resolver cache and it has 1 entry and four sub-entries under that one. Why won't it work with my laptop?

Im running WinXp Pro. IE 6

Thanks!!

el: Delete the hosts file and run Spybot or Ad-Aware.
