losing connection

I currently use Mediacom's high speed internet (cable modem). I have a linksys bsfr(?) 4 port router, belive it's an RCA modem (provided by medaicom) linked to 2 computers, one running win 98, the second 98se. I've had almost the same setup running on a dsl line. Everytime it rains, or as it seems, I have to reset the modem. Is this a common thing? or should I complain to medaicom?

Start with your cable provider. There is probably a corroded or bad connection someplace outside. Or there is a junction box that is leaking rain.

Yep, since it's rain that affects it, I doubt it's inside the house.
