Testing a Spam filter...
Anyone know if there is a way to get a few spam messages that won't generate loads of spam, to test a new spam filtering device?
I just need to try to send a few messages through, and see how well it works, without setting up custom rules. Thanks. |

How about making a dummy account then signing up for anything and everything that you know will generate spam mail. Once you are done testing the software simply delete the account. You can send your own messages to it to see if it only filters out the spam and not legitimate mail.

There are faster ways-give your email to those spam sites. Any sites...maybe also adult site?

When you delete that account, make sure your domain doesn't have a "catchall" address - set it to bounce or blackhole all invalid addresses.

I realized after I post that, that I wouldn't be getting a true baseline analysis if I did that. I'm watching the logs, and see that we have no lack of spam.
