I recently bought a D-Link DWL-G520+ PCI Adapter, and it was working up to the point where I decided to reformat my hard drive (not because of the card, but because of Windows XP just refusing to work). I reformatted the hard drive, installed Windows XP, and restarted the computer (the network card, graphics card, and sound card were all in their sockets at this point).
Everything except my network card was detected. I installed the drivers for my graphics card, sound card and monitor. I installed the drivers for the network card as well, even though it had not been detected. So I went about uninstalling the drivers, shutting down my computer, taking out the card, restarting the computer, shutting down the computer, reinstalling the card, starting the computer, installing the drivers, and so on and so on. It has still not been detected. I know that the card is detected when the green light on the back turns on, but it hasn't turned green ever since I reformatted my hard drive. Is there a special sequence of events that I must follow to get it working? Or anything?! Please help, thanks. |

Have you checked Device Manager? Perhaps there is a conflict... Does the network card show up in Device Manager?

I'd say that the card has died or it's not properly seated in the PCI slot.

What kind of Mobo you got Intel or Via Chipset? Since you mentioned you reformatted your HDrive and if it is a Via maybe you need to install the patch.
