File sharing not working with wireless
Hey,
I have a linksys wireless/wired router which is connected to my main computer through an eternet wire. The cable internet connects directly into the router. My main computer is the one I built myself and it has win xp pro on it. My other pc is an emachines in the office and uses a linksys wireless transmitter thing which connects via usb. It has windows xp home on it. Well, while on the emachines I can click on My Network Places it lets me see all the shared folders on both computers, then it lets me see and use what's on my other computer when I click on my workgroup computers and click on the other pc. But when I try to access the emachines through my main computer, it says: "It is not accessible. You may not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found." When I try this I am logged on as the adminstrator for both computers. Networking used to work but all of a sudden it won't any more. What am I doing wrong? I can access the internet through both computers though, it's just the file sharing which isn't working. Thanks. I just thought of something. Could it be a firewall which is messing me up? I'm running the free zonealarm on both---but I have them both configured to work.

ZA would definately be the problem, in my opinion. I just had to do this tuesday. Make sure the firewall settings are at meduim on both security zones. It should work fine after that, it did for me.

Install Netbeui to get around the firewalls.
