Wireless and standard ethernet card in one computor?
I am setting up a wireless G network at home and plan to get the router listed below. I know that I then need either a bridge or wireless ethernet card to pick up and send the signal to my computor. I was was going to just get the USB network adaptor listed below. But I have heard I would be better off getting an internal wireless PCI card for the same price. My computor already has a standard ethernet card, so my queston is could I just get the wireless ethernet card listed below and install it without problem? Because that way when I am at home I could acess my wireless network, but when I am at college I could use the standard ethernet port. Or will having a wireless and standard ethenet card in one comp cause problems? Thanks for helping a newb out!

shouldn't cause a problem. My laptop has both a hardwired ethernet port and wireless card built in.

You shouldn't have a problem with either the USB wireless or PCI wireless. You might run into problems if you try using two connections at the same time.
[edit]: Just my opinion here; I would probably get the USB adapter since you wouln't be needing it all time. PCI slots sometimes fill up fast ![]() Also, that antenna on the PCI card worries me when the time comes to move the PC around.

I don't see a problem with it, I'm running a wireless nic and wired nic on my main rig to access two seperate networks on my home lan.
In case anyone asks I do this to monitor my F@H boxes.

Ok it sounds like the two cards will work fine in one computor, I am not going to be using both connections at once anyway. I am just going to go with the internal wireless PCI card. I have 2 open PCI slots and i dont see what else i would need them for besides maybe a video card. Plus I could always rip out my 56k modem which I never use if I really need an extra slot.
