Starting a newbie network

Hi, for christmas im building a new computer, and plan on networking my computers. I will need wireless because they are somewhat far away. Im not exactly sure what ive got to get.I was planning on getting a wireless router / 4 port switch, and a wireless pci card (only one computer will be wireless, the other will be wired) Is this all i will need or is there more?

Nope, that should be it.

If there are a lot of walls (mainly concrete, lead pipes, and other various building materials, usually something somewhat dense) in between the router and wireless NEC, the connection strength may be low.

You'll need an assortment of cables to connect it all together.

ite great, i think wireless will work perfect, the two computers are practically down the hall from eachother (there's virtually no walls between them) But my dad wont let me have a cat-5 cable running down the hallway :P oh well

The wireless should work fine. I guess I could have gone wireless but it was a lot more expensive when I bought my router. I have Cat-5 cables running in the walls to go upstairs and under the house to go to my Xbox. It all works great.
