I am wanting to use my computer to setup a home security webcam-based system. What I want to do is connect 2 or 3 webcams to my systems, most likely via USB, and be able to either remotely monitor the cams via live feed or have images periodicly uploaded to a wb server.
if anyone can hep or let me know were there any good articles on the subject i would be most greatful. |

there is a better way to do this so you won't run into the usb cable length problem 6 meters max
use a web cam that has a built in server and use a regular eathernet cat-5 cabeling that will connet to your multiport switch, cable length with this set up will be 100 meters and you can have several cameras too. I have the VEO observer and it works great. |

Bailey, can this be used Outdoor? Is it weatherproof? I'm reading the specs from their Website, but it doesn't say anything about it. Thanks.
