$#^ vpn and my router

I have a netgear fvs318 router
my wife's company uses cisco vpn client to phone home to the mothership.
For the life of me I can not get this thing to work.
The vpn can authenticate, but she can't login to the domain unless I bypass my router, which I am not going to do every night.
I set her mac in my router to get the same ip, and set her ip to dmz
I dont have a lot of exp. with vpn's, but have configured a few.
If she is in the dmz, is there ANy reason why this connection will not work?
Any advice / help would be appreciated.
thx
