AVG for windows
OK: I get a popup form AVG telling me I have a virus, and that I should run AVG for windows. After running AVG from windows, it tells me that I have a virus, and that i should run AVG for windows.
Now, as you might imagine, I don't quite know how to proceed, are there any options I should have selected to have the virus automatically removed? I've been using AVG for quite a while, but this is the first time it found a virus... any ideas?Thank you Dswissmiss |

restart your computer in safe mode and try running a full system scan with avg. Also if AVG is listing an exact file, you could find the file and manually delete it *also do in safe mode) If that does work..id probably just reformat because i dont know any other options, but there might be some.

If you are running Win ME or XP, you will want to disable System Restore, then run AVG again and see if it can take care of the virus.

Try going to housecall.trendmicro.com and running the free online scan. If it finds a virus but can't remove it, note the name of it and look it up in the trendmicro database, there will be removal instructions.
