Exclamation Connected but unable to browse

So mypc crash, and still I don't know why. I reinstall winxp. Now I face a problem, I can get connected to the internet, but I cannot browse, like nothing is happening. I am using the intel onboard gigabit NIC. When I opend te network connections folder I have the following:
1. My connection,
2. Local area connection
3. 1394 connection
The my connection is grery(the icon suppose to be in blue incolor. When I try to repair the 1394 connection, I get "TCP/IP is not enable for this machine. Cannot proceed". What do I do know? I can conect but thats it . I'm using Aztech 305U external DSL modem. There is nothing wrong with that. Help.

Cool

You will need to reinstall your NIC drivers also if XP doesn't have native support. I have XP and use the NIC on my mobo. I have to install the drivers for it in order to use the net.

Cool

Is this the same PC with Norton Systemworks? If so, you could have ports blocked that is causing problems.

Cool

Sound like you did a install over the top and Norton Systemworks is still running and you have ports blocked. Uninstall Systemworks and see what happens. Sometimes a simple uninstall will not rid your PC. You may wind up formatting and reinstalling.
Chas
For information. Systemworks is a piece of ----- and only thing you need from Nortons is antivirus and Ghost.
