XP Home file sharing problem

I have a XP Home computer trying to share a folder to 2 other XP Pro computers on a LAN. The folder is shared, and is marked as 'Read Only'. I need to uncheck that, so others can alter files in the folder, but the folder always reverts back to 'Read Only'. Does this have something to do with Xp Home's stupid file sharing limits?

I have no issues reading/writing to an XP-Home share.

Select the properties of the shared resource, the folder in this case, and make sure that Allow network users to change my files is checked. That's all it's ever taken to get it working for me.

I did that. Still nothing. If I copy the file over to the other computer, it opens no problem. It just won't go across the network.

Hmm... Could it have to do with the permissions on the folder? Have you checked the user's permissions that is trying to modify files on the shared drive?
