i am starting a first time build. I bought a usr 2977 oem. I went to usr web site to down load drivers. Under 2977 they list win9x,nt,me,2k.I am installing xphome. I am now confused. Does xp allready support 2977 or do i have to down load the drivers? I saw no listings of xp or did i miss something.

i would assume that xp has drivers built into the OS, but if you cannot get it to work, just get the drivers for windows 2000, as the technology is similar in XP and 2k

Yes, XP has the driver for the 2977. I ended up using that driver instead of the one that came on the driver disk with the modem because I couldn't get that one to work. XP noticed the 2977 and installed the right driver and it works great.
