Can't setup a dial-up connection

I hope this is the right place for this questions, anyway I have a computer that just started having trouble connecting to a dialup ISP. First it would connect but would have no compression and I could not do anything via internet, then I reloaded WIN XP home and now I cannot set up a dial up connection, It sees the modem in device manager and says it is working fine, but when i go to set up a dial up connection it only gives an option for broadband, aslo i have three PCs networked togeather and I have one PC sharing the dialup but the one I'm having problems with can't see the shared connection but it can see the other computers and shared folders. I don't know what to do, thanks for any help.

Try this:

Open Control Panel (Classic View)/Administrative Tools/Services. Highlight the Remote Access Connection Manager service. From the Action menu, select Properties. Click the General tab. From the Startup type: drop-down menu, choose the Automatic option. Click the Apply button, and then click the Start button. Click the OK button. Restart the computer.

Attempt to use the New Connection Wizard again.

If that doesnt work, there is a Registry fix where you delete 2 folders named 25 and 26, located at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\25

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP\EAP\26
