Virus in the BIOS
It seems my sister-in-law managed to get a virus that worked it's way into the BIOS. She had a friend of hers that works on pc's look at it and he said it was in the BIOS and there wasn't much he could do about it. She lives in a different state and I haven't had a chance to look at it, I don't even know anything about the system. She just ended up buying a new computer. Now that seems a little drastic to me. I was just wondering if there would be any way to salvage the mobo... Does anyone have any ideas?

Replace the bios chip. Clearing and reflashing *might* work.
