I have a brand new system running win98se. I would like some virus maybe firewall protection as i check bank accounts and surf alot on icq,yahoo,aol type programmes. Which is the best for protection and maintaining speed. Do i need a firewall or would a port scanner be better.

You can get free antivirus protection at http://antivirus.cai.com and a free firewall at http://www.zonelabs.com .

If you are using broadband, look into getting yourself a DSL router with some firewalling too
