Need advice please
I have a ADSL Broadband connection. i was wondering how i can connect 3 computers, 2 upstairs 1 downstairs. so they can all go on Broadband.
i would like to get wireless broadband do i plug in a Router into the wall socket and put PCI cand in all the computers and it will work? 2 of the run WinXP home and 1 runs Win 98 |

Yep you need a Router. Connect all the PCs to the Router, and the Router to the modem, and that's it.
Dunno about wireless, though, but I guess it is similar, just wireless. RJ

If 3 computers share broadband does that meen the connection will slow down? for example if im playing Battlefield Online and my sister goes on the internet on her computer will it slow my game down? also will it effect my ping at the moment on BF i get 95 on a East coast server if i shared my connection will it go upto 105+?

Ok if i get this
D-Link AirPlus DSL-604+ ADSL Router/22Mbps Wireless Lan / 4-Port Switch (NW-002-DL) and 3 of these D-Link AirPlus DWL-520+ Enhanced 2.4GHz Wireless PCI Adapter (NW-004-DL) is that all i need for a wireless Broadband network? |

If one of the PC's is next to the router I would hook that one wired rather than wireless.
Multiple users will not affect game playing unless all started a large download. That might affect it, but normal surfing won't matter. Chas

It's always better to use cables to connect computers to the router if feasible, you should always have at least one wired connection. Your choice of components is fine, but don't run all 3 wireless.

I was thinking of having my Gaming computer wired and my router next to it. and putting the PCI card in my sisters and the downstairs computer will that work?
