Automatically start up modem with PC

Hi, I have recently rebuilt my PC with XP Home and cant figure out how to have it automatically connect to the internet when I turn it on.

I have an Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem (broadband, not 56k), and to connect to the internet I currently go to Start/ Connect To/ Alcatel Speedtouch Connection.

I tried putting the above Connection file into my Startup folder under Documents and Settings, but it reports an error and needs me to hit "retry".

(I might sound lazy that I dont want to have to hit one button but its the theory of thing - I should be able to do this!)

I have also tried all the settings options on the Alcatel dialling screen, but no luck.

What am I missing?

www.raspppoe.com

Remove your existing connection and install this.

Read section 5.6 for making it "always on".
