dsl required?
hi all
I was looking around for a router online and I found one I want but it says a broadband connection is required. We don't have DSL (yet), and I want to know if I can use the router without it? Also, will both CAT5 and crossover cables work with a router? thanks. |

depends on your goal.
If you want it to share an internet connection then it will only share a broadband connection. |

I recommend that you do not buy a router till you have broadband. If you want to network with dialup, just use a crossover cable (or a cheap hub and straight cables) and ICS in the meantime. If you use a crossover cable now, you can reuse it with a router as long as the router has an uplink port or autosensing MDI/MDIX ports.
