CRASH Missing all icons in list of Network Connections

I have just installed a second NIC for my comp (specs can be found here) and when I enter the Network Connections list, from the control panel, all the icons are gone, along with the icon for the 'Add new connection wizard'.

If I go 'ipconfig /all', I can see both NICs, but nothing appears in the Network Connections list. If there is any way to get those beloved icons back, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks for all considerations.

I have no idea why you would loose all the icons,
maybe a repaire or a restore would be the best bet to try

Thanks, but after hours last night of bashing my head against the desk, I smacked the computer several times and started enabling everything. Something must have worked because I can see them now.

I finally traced it back to the Networking connections service.
