Two PC's; close proximity
I have two PC's within 3 foot of one another hooked up to a KVM switch w/audio. One has a 802.11g wireless NIC in it and the other one has an RJ-45 ethernet NIC in it.
Question one. Would putting another wireless NIC in such close proximity to the other have any negative effect? Question two. Can the wireless NIC and the ethernet NIC be installed in the same machine and it work OK? I have an open PCI slot and the machine has Win98SE on it. Would you just disable the hardware in device manager until needed?

Probably no problems. Depends on how well the manufacturer designed it. And in the case of one manufacturer, probably the only way you'll get more than 50% uptime.
Wireless is just another NIC. The OS can take 3. Connect with a crossover cable. |
