Wireless Adapter

I have a Linksys A+B wireless adapter installed on my laptop.

It looks like everyting is properly set up as I do have good signal strength and I am able to link up to my network occasionally. The unit times out when I am using Outlook Express 90% of the time and I am only able to pull down some messages before the unit times out.

Is there anybody out there familar with this problem?

Regards.

What kind of router are you using. What operating systems
are you using on your network.

If you are using xp go to where the blinking monitor things are in your taskbar, and see how many packets are sent and received you want them to be close. Because sometimes with me I will have a very good connection and I am receiving barely any packets, and I can not even get my email.

Caveman:

We are using a Netgear MR814 wireless router on a system using Windows XP Professional. The adapter is a Linksys WPC51AB.

With wireless, that's usually due to low signal strength. The Linksys PCMCIA cards are very low power. You may have to disable the WEP encryption and use MAC security instead to get a clean transfer.

Signal strength may not be the problem as we see that it is reported excellent strength. We do not have WEP encryption enabled.
