Wireless Network Problem - D-link G

Hello, Im stuck. I dont know what else to try. Let me explain :

I have 3 pcs conected to a D-link router. 2 pc`s wirlessly and 1 pc is conected fisicly to the router by cable. The router has a Bellsouth dsl line conected to it. All the computers are sharing the same internet conection. And i cans surf the web from them perfactly.

But the problem is that for some reason my 2 computers connected wireless to the router can not sedn infometion to the web. It seems like the router is blocking them, to send any info. I cant send email or bid on ebay through those computers.

On the contrary the one thats conected to the router by cable, work perfect.

Any ideas to fix the problem ? I hope its simple. Dont konw much about networking.

Ill aprecaite any help possible. thanks !

I have not yet played with dsl, but I have played with the wireless, and never ran into that problem yet.

I would double check you settings in the wireless router, seams like what your saying somethings too tight on the security area or you do have a port blocked,

check the port 25 for the e-mail and port 80 for the http

xalex1 Welcome to PCMECH.

Since your have Bellsouth ADSL, tell me, which modem do you have, Westell 2100/2200?

If that is the case, best bet is to unplug the router Then hit the reset switch on the back of your westell while powered up. Wait until you regain sync on the westell *when the ready light comes on solid* then turn on the router.

Let the router power up, surf into the default gateway on the router then setup the PPPoE connection with your bellsouth user name and password. (HINT on the user name add @bellsouth.net it is required if you have a BBG connection and works with all Bellsouth connections)

Once the router connects dont' worry about the westell, at that point you are certain your router is doing the connection and ready to hand out all the IPs.

Actually I just read your post could you clarify something for me.

You say all can surf? but the wireless can't send info to the web?
So are the wireless surfing but not doing something else or are the wireless not surfing at all?

As soon as i hit the compose button in yahoo mail it gives me an error internet page. And in hotmail , i dosent iven let me check my mail. This is wierd. The computer that is conected fisicaly can do all that with no problems. About pppoe I never did that. Ill try doing i when i get home.

Try upgrading the router's firmware. I've been seeing problems recently with firmware in D-Link wireless routers. Even if you have the most recent version, upgrade it anyway.

It sounds like the security or privacy settings in IE are set too high. Or is there a built-in firewall in the router? This could be blocking it. If you connect the wireless computers to the routher with a cable do you still have the problem? That would eliminate that it is a setting on your pc i think.

Virtual server is just for port forwarding, if you need specific ports directed to specific machines - like if you were running a webserver or FTP server.
