Wireless Router Freezes
I have a Linksys Wireless Router and it is freezing whenever I am searching the internet or anything. The modem works fine if it's directly hooked into the computer but once I hook up the router, it causes freezing. Anyone help?
Thanks. |

Might need to do a firmware update. Which model is your linksys?
Do all of the computers lose connection or just one? |

It is a Linksys model befw11s4 ver 4. There is only one computer on wireless and it's the only one that freezes. I never use the main computer so I'm not really sure if it freezes or not by my girlfriend says that it doesn't (at least that she knows of). What should I do?
Thanks |

Update the firmware. I had troubles with a Linksys wireless router, but updating the firmware fixed that.

Maybe your losing the connection from the router to the pc? Interference? Maybe the nic? Is it a linksys nic?
Next time you get a lock-up check her computer and see if she's still connected. Also make sure you have WEP encryption enabled. |

The BEFW11S4 version 4 is a lemon. Try a firmware update, if that doesn't work, RMA it.
