Notice To Members

If you can read this post, you are either a member of the moderation team or are a Premiere Member of PCMech. This is a brand new forum that is being set up especially for our premiere members.

As a heads up, all existing premiere members (or Supporters, as you may know it) are going to be transitioned into a new system. PCMech University is going to be merged with PCMech and all new memberships are going to be part of that system. All existing supporters are either going to be discontinued or migrated into the new system until and left active for the extent of their membership.

So, the old premiere membership program is going to end. New memberships will be in conjunction with the full membership program, at either the silver or gold level. Details will be coming soon.

I hope any of that made sense. I promise, things will come together soon.

And for anybody that is able to see this forum now (except for staff), realize that there may be some hiccups along the way of migrating your profile. If anything arises that shouldn't be, email me at drisley@pcmech.com or email forum staff.

I for one am very pleased with this membership! I hope to learn alot from seasoned computer people. I have only been working with computers for about a year now. Keep up the good work!

I tried to look for threads about this subject and found discussions, some 7 years old. None were recent. When I look at some of the ones posted today there were no replies. Where is the best place to post a proposed build and ask questions as to what is overkill, and if it will or should work optimally together.

I am not a gamer and will be using the system for business running three monitors. I joined this site because I have done my due diligence and still don’t know what I really need. Too many different opinions and I think I am back to square one, or at least feel like it.

I did build a machine with its fair share of setbacks many years ago, but it did finally work and I enjoyed it for a long time.

A very anxious and a little confused computer hobbyist.

Try posting a thread in the "build your own PC" forum. It's helpful to include what you plan on using the machine for, your budget, and possibly any older parts that you might want to re-use (CD drive, card reader, etc)

Just a note to say Hi to all of you ! I purchased the membership because I always need to be ontop of as much of the tech stuff as I can be.I am a wheelchair jockey with 2 websites that I run and two in construction and as a noob to building web sites I thought this may also be a good place for me to be. I am an exsubmariner and a War Disabled pensioner as I have been for the past 12 years and this machine gives me access into the big wide world that I wouldnt of had 12 years ago .....so here goes to being a member here!!
