End program box

I try to shut down the system and a box appears with an error message:

end program ccSvcHst program not responding.

The system will not shut down till I click end program.What is it and how do I get rid of it or fix it?

ccsvchst.exe is a Symantec Service Framework Executable from Symantec Corporation belonging to Symantec Security Technologies. If your are indeed running a Symantec product, i.e. Norton Anti-Virus or some other Norton product, you can't get rid of ccsvchst.exe.

Thanks, I hate can’t, if you’re right I guess I’m stuck, but I will contact Symantec support anyway. Thank you for the enlightenment. I don’t really like it anyway ,it slows down the system noticeably.

Don't like "can't" myself but in this case you need it, I run NIS 2008 but don't have that issue. Contacting support may get you the answers you need.

I would first try uninstalling Norton, then runin ccleaner after that reinstall Nortons and see if that helps..
