Angry Fire Thinking of taking the punge into vista

I have had vista home since August of last year but never installed it due to the abundance of problems it had. Now i dont hear about those problems so much any more and xp has crashed with the press cctrl alt delete error to the point where I've had it with xp. Is vista a viable option? This is going on my main rig in my sig, I'm on my laptop right now and thinking of switching this to linux. Any advice?

I'm an XP fan, so that would be my choice. However, a lot of those vista troubles you heard about have been patched up by SP1. If you do install it, make sure to update. BTW, there's no sig showing...

Some people think Vista is pretty good, others still dislike it.

Yes, upgrade, try it, if you don't like it, go back to XP... I'm standing on both sides of the fence... The Dell I bought came with Vista Basic... even with 3GB of RAM, it seemed slow and awkward to me.. now my laptop on the other hand, has Vista Premium... and it's quite smooth and performs well. I just might have to reload that Dell and upgrade the version of Vista to see if it makes any difference.
