What happens to XP pro when i cant activate it? Can I still use the system?
This is my third computer I have built for myself and when I try to activate it tells me I have done it too many times. I would prefer to wait for Windows 7 the have to buy a new xP pro. Any ideas? |

Welcome to PC Mech, charddavi !!
![]() If it's the same copy on all 3 machines, you may run into problems. If it's a different copy, you should be OK. Have you tried calling it in instead of doing it online? TwoRails |

You are legally only allowed to install one copy of XP on one computer at a time. If the other 2 computers no longer exist, use the telephone activation system and explain the situation to the agent. If this is not the case, you can use the system for 30 days without activation, but you cannot get Windows updates.

Yes, you will not be able to login if the 30 days are up and you will be forced to activate.
