Angry mobile phones & water!

My teenage son inadvertently had his phone dipped into a pool the other day.
It showed no obvious sign of damage but didnt work so he took it back to the dealer
Lo and behold there is a little round sticker (1/4inch") in the battery compartment that changes from white to pink when there is moisture in the phone. So now he has a nice looking phone that doesnt work.
Regards to all

You didn't kow that these type of devices do not like water too well? Have you tried to get a replacement? Just curious but what kind of phone is it?

they wont touch it. No phone company covers water damage. He might as well cough up the full price

I dropped my phone in the bathtub. Of course, it stopped working. I took it apart and sprayed it out with a choke/carb clearner. I let it set with the battery out and the phone open for a few days. It dried out and works find now. No quarantees, but it might work for you.

All he has to do is call and say he lost it. My daughter just dropped hers in the Toilet of all places, and that is what I plan on doing. We do have a replacement coverage that I pay for every month, so that might help as well..

If you buy insurance on the phone it would be covered right?

Doubtful, unless it covers physical abuse.
